  hmmm.... one was the leader of a destructive self-serving organization that put its own interests above anything else, suppressed any dissent, and longed for the destruction of an entire world of people.. the other was governor wilhuff tarkin from the original star wars movie.. just sayin'.... .

  i used to enjoy being able to distinguish different local accents, but for some reason i've got worse at it.

  i was thinking about this today when i was listening to bette midler on the scottish radio.

  i thought to myself i quite liked her accent and also that it reminded me of someone else.

  New Christmas Ornament this year

  this year i put a new ornament up on the tree.

  what makes it special is that it is a picture frame ornament.

  the picture inside the frame is a recent family photo of all the people i haven't seen in years standing in front of a hall.

  What made you turn atheist or agnostic?

  if you were a jw and are now an atheist or agnostic, what was the tipping point that made you turn to it?.

  the reason i ask is i have noticed that many who leave the jw's seem to turn to atheism, versus still having some form of a faith.

  have many of you given up on god first or have you had atheistic views first and then found atheism to be true.

  Basically the "descovery channel"...the earth has had 4 or 5 mass extinction events which killed 97% of ALL life on the planet. There is no God doing this. Life rebuilds and thrives by inself like a virus. No "Eden" ever existed. Learn about even basic science and you will be an atheiest.

  when i was first introduced to the "truth", i was so distracted by the love and affection that the members were showing me that i was ready to convert into the religion without thinking twice.

  i was conviced that jws were god's people (i still think some of them are).

  i made it my goal to get baptized as i wanted to be part of the "only" religion that produce such good people.

  When I got a huge ass T.V I noticed alot of funny comments and looks it was the biggest you could buy at the time. Brothers just seemed pissed off you were enjoying life. So sad I was happy when someone was ejoying life.

  2015-12-17-boe already, you dear brothers have done so well, sending gifts both large and small.

  for in-stance, two children, five and seven years old, sent their pocket money to help build our new bethel instead of going to the circus, writing, "this is much better than that!

  25 years ago this week tim berners-lee turned on the first ever website on the world wide web.

  basically it was a self-help guide to joining the web.... the first search engine alibweb was launched in '94 and it still functions today.. 4 billion web pages later it could be said the project was a success.. you can read more about the early days here....
